Staying Connected But Finding Rest

A Gift For You

This past season of leading Community Groups was one of the most challenging, and yet in spite of the difficulties God continued to work through you to help people find hope in community and grow in their faith.

One way we wanted to say thank you for your ministry this year is through the small gift of a picnic blanket.

If you didn't get a chance to get yours at the Red Wings Game last Friday, you can pick yours up at the Rochester or Webster Campus this Sunday.

You'll find them in the overflow rooms across from the auditorium at both campuses.

  • Rochester - Room 417

  • Webster - next to the Starting Point classroom

Staying Connected But Finding Rest

As of last Sunday, Summer has officially arrived!

We hope you are enjoying the summer weather and the Community Group break.

Although relationships continue, our weekly meetings take a break for the summer.

These breaks are designed intentionally for leaders and group members to recharge and rest.

To care for others we have to care for our own soul.

From the moment of creation, God established a pattern of sabbath rest.

As you strive to balance connecting with others this summer and finding refreshment for your own spirit, soul, and body, one book you might find helpful in navigating this tension is "The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry" by John Mark Comer.

If you are not a reader, you might try the audio edition.

In fact, if you have never used Audible before, you can listen to the book for free if you sign up HERE.

Although groups are on break, community never ends. If you are looking for some ideas to connect this summer, check out the resources below.

We can't thank you enough for your leadership and care for your group this past year.

Enjoy the summer break! Get some rest!
