Jury Duty

THIS IS THE LAST WEEK OF THE GROUP TRIMESTER. TAKE SOME TIME AT THE END OF GROUP IN PRAYER TIME TO ASK EACH OTHER HOW YOU ARE EACH DOING AT ACCOMPLISHING THE GROWTH GOALS YOU SET AT THE BEGINNING OF THE TRIMESTER.

ALSO, TAKE SOME TIME TO PASS OUT END OF TRIMESTER FEEDBACK FORMS, OR HAND OUT 3X5 CARDS FOR GROUP MEMBERS TO SHARE THEIR FEEDBACK AND SUGGESTIONS ABOUT THEIR GROUP EXPERIENCE THIS YEAR. THIS WILL BE HELPFUL FOR YOU AS LEADERS TO MAKE APPROPRIATE ADJUSTMENTS WHEN GROUPS BEGIN AGAIN.

2019.11.17 - Drew Karschner - "Jury Duty" Have you ever been wrongfully accused? Paul’s own people made accusations against him and placed him on trial for his belief in the gospel. They wanted him dead, but God used their pursuit and Paul’s dual citizenship to take him to a new place of ministry Rome. Acts 26

Success Can Hurt

2019.11.10 - Drew Karschner - "Success Can Hurt" One of the most fulfilling things a Christian can experience is gospel success. There is nothing more motivating than seeing people trust Jesus. But the truth is, gospel success can bring its challenges, and Paul found that to be true as his ministry began to gain traction. Acts 16

Common Ground

2019.11.03 - Drew Karschner - "Common Ground" Paul started his ministry with the Jews, but when they treated him poorly and rejected his messages, he went to the Gentiles. Knowing the Gentiles were unfamiliar with God, he chose a different approach to reach them. We can learn from Paul’s life that approach often trumps content. Acts 17

The Tentmaker

We are encouraging all Community Groups to celebrate Communion together between 10/20 and 10/31. See instructions guide below. Reflecting on Christ’s sacrifice on our behalf is central to Christian community.

2019.10.27 - Aaron Hixson - "The Tentmaker" Without a doubt, Paul was the most prolific missionary in the early church. His ambition in spreading the message about Jesus is hard to even fully grasp - so what can we learn from how he did ministry? What can we apply to our lives so that we can be more effective in impacting others for Christ? In this message we'll see facts about how Paul operated and what that means for us today. 1 Corinthians 11:1

Friendly Fire

We are encouraging all Community Groups to celebrate Communion together either this week or next week. See instructions guide below. Reflecting on Christ’s sacrifice on our behalf is central to Christian community.

2019.10.20 - Drew Karschner - "Friendly Fire" Paul's first ministry was to his own people - the Jews. But this wasn’t an easy calling and it put Paul’s life at risk. As he ministered to the Jews Paul realized that this would be a battle to the very end. Acts 9:15

Nothing Will Be The Same

2019.10.13 - Aaron Hixson - "Nothing Will Be The Same" There are pivotal moments in life when everything changes - times that we look back on and realize it was the beginning of something that would alter the course of our life. For Paul, this is that moment. And in this talk, we'll explore what questions he had to answer in order to step into the rest of his life, and we'll discover how they might be the same questions we have to answer for ourselves. Acts 9:6-19

A Life Interrupted

In addition to discussing this weeks sermon in your group, we are encouraging all groups to consider reading the daily Paul series bonus material: historical background, scripture readings, devotional thoughts, application questions.

This is a great way to encourage each other to grow in your understanding and application of the Bible. Readings will be posted each weekday at www.PaulSeries.com.

2019.10.06 - Drew Karschner - "A Life Interrupted" Think of the most unlikely person God would use to spread His gospel. Saul was that man. But while he was on a journey to kill and imprison Christians, God changed Saul into Paul. Not only did He change his name, He also changed the whole direction of his life. Acts 9

I Have Decided

2019.09.29 - Drew Karschner - "I Have Decided" We all want to know God’s will but we often make it harder than it really is. If you boil it down, God’s will for our lives is simply obedience to Him. Obedience is a daily decision where we choose to do the next right thing. For those of you that are Christ-followers but haven’t been baptized yet, baptism is your next step. 1 Thessalonians 4

A Sign From Within

2019.09.22 - Drew Karschner - "A Sign Within You" One of the greatest gifts we have as Christ followers is the Spirit of God. He will never leave us nor forsake us because He lives inside of us. The Spirit of God, who led Jesus, can lead us. We must learn when facing both simple and hard decisions in life to be sensitive to His leading. John 16

An Ancient Sign

Included below are Week 1 details to cover with your group, like the group agreement, volunteer schedules, and overview of how groups work to help new people get acquainted with group. The notes also include the sermon discussion questions for this week.

2019.09.15 - Drew Karschner - "An Ancient Sign" Knowing what to do can be agonizing at times. But the great news is that God has given us a manual for life. It might be an old book, but the Bible offers relevant insight into the decisions that will put you in the center of God’s will. Psalm 119:105

Accept Not Substitutes

2019.09.01 - Aaron Hixson - "Accept No Substitutes" Our world is full of distractions and imitations - it's easy to be drawn into believing that you've got the "real thing," only to discover you've been fooled into a fake. So what about our beliefs about God? Is it possible for there to be imitations and lies that could fool us into believing the wrong things with disastrous results? This final section of John's letter is all about discerning the TRUTH from the LIES and making our beliefs about Jesus secure. 1 John 5

Child's Play

2019.08.18 - Mark Nelson - "Child’s Play" What does it mean to be a child of God? What kinds of things would be true of your life if God was really your Father? In chapter three of his letter, John reveals three signs of life that every child of God displays, which help verify if our faith is genuine. 1 John 3

Holes in our Souls

2019.08.11 - Aaron Hixson - "Holes in our Souls" Do you have any struggles that you keep coming back to? Does it seem like you've got gaps in your defense that results in you making the same mistakes over and over? In this message, we'll explore what John says about the 3 core weaknesses we all have, and what we can do to build up our defense against them. 1 John 2
